The grounds of PA Lions Beacon Lodge Camp were full of laughter, music, and community spirit during the First Annual Beacon Fall Fest, held on Saturday, November 15th. With the leaves turning and crisp air setting the scene, the camp welcomed guests from near and far for a day of unforgettable fall fun.

One of the day’s most inspiring highlights was DJ Len, a former Beacon Lodge camper who is visually impaired, spinning tunes throughout the event. His music brought smiles and energy to the crowd and was a beautiful reminder of the talent and joy nurtured at Beacon Lodge.

The festival hosted a vibrant mix of craft vendors, including the Girl Scouts with their unique, hand-crafted items, and Baked with Love by Gina, whose sourdough creations were a crowd favorite. Food vendors kept everyone satisfied with warm, festive eats as families explored all the activities.

Children had a blast in the Corn Pit, generously sponsored by PA Lions District 14L, which was a hit all day long. Lions Clubs from across Pennsylvania joined the fun, helping to support the event and sharing in the spirit of service that defines Beacon Lodge.

Guests were treated to golf cart tours of the camp, offering scenic views and insight into the programs and facilities that have served individuals with visual impairments and special needs for over 75 years.

“It felt like home,” said one attendee. “Beacon Lodge has always had a special kind of magic—and Fall Fest captured it beautifully.”

Adding a sweet touch to the cool afternoon, Community State Bank provided free hot chocolate and flashlights to all who stopped by their booth. Visitors also enjoyed the chance to meet Alicia and her Leader Dog, symbolizing the independence and empowerment that Beacon Lodge encourages every day.

From raffles and prizes to heartwarming moments and community connections, the First Annual Beacon Fall Fest was a clear success. It marked the beginning of what is sure to become a beloved tradition for the Beacon Lodge family and the wider community.
