This program is geared for adult individuals that are legally blind with best correction, totally blind, have Macular Degeneration, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Glaucoma, etc.
This program promotes independence; therefore, campers must posses the ability to work well, socialize with, and interact in peer group situations.
Ability to self bathe, dress, feed, follow directions, camp rule and policies, and manage money on campus and during off-campus trips is a must.
Our VI sessions operate on a 1:8 counselor to camper ratio.

Through a Camper's Eyes
Meet Morgan, a 32-year-old blind nature enthusiast whose blackout glasses, long white cane, and collector’s jar are always part of her journey. At Camp Perception, Morgan turned her love of bird calls, trail navigation, and teaching into unforgettable lessons for fellow campers. From guiding nature walks along the Braille Trail to sharing her motto: “There’s always another way to see things.” Morgan showed that vision loss can open new ways of experiencing and teaching the natural world.
