SEASONAL COOKS

We are seeking skilled and passionate cooks to join our summer team. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background and be capable of executing various cooking techniques to produce high-quality dishes. The cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with recipes and standards while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Additionally, the candidate should possess ServSafe certification (preferred), at least 1-year experience in camp or commercial kitchen service setting, and managerial skills are a plus. A strong work ethic, reliability, professionalism, and accountability are essential. Reliable transportation is a must. 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Ensure all food preparation meets food safety and sanitation guidelines, following Camp Policies, Camp Rules, DOH guidelines, and ServSafe guidelines.
  • Assist in menu planning and development, including suggesting new dishes and specials.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies, assisting the Kitchen Supervisor with food and supply inventory.
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment and workstations, including equipment, utensils, preparation areas, serving areas, and refuse receptacles.
  • Follow proper food handling procedures and safety protocols at all times.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed, managing Kitchen Helpers in conjunction with the Kitchen Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or executive chef.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a cook in a professional kitchen environment, with at least 1 year of experience in a camp or commercial kitchen service setting.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Assist with food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
  • Wash dishes, pots, and pans, and ensure they are properly stored.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Receive and store food deliveries, rotating stock as needed.

SEASONAL HOUSEKEEPERS

Summer Housekeepers: 

  • (May – August) Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Hybrid Housekeepers:

  • (March – September) Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
  • 1 day every other week
  • As needed for rentals and events during the off-season.
  • Availability to qualify for unemployment benefits during the off-season.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all cabins, common areas, and recreational spaces are impeccably clean and well-maintained.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies to ensure availability at all times.
  • Collaborate with camp staff to address specific cleaning needs for various events and activities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in housekeeping or a similar role is a plus.

Year Round Positions

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Are you a skilled maintenance professional with leadership experience? We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the upkeep and maintenance of our camp facilities year-round. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a team of maintenance staff, ensuring that buildings, grounds, and equipment are well-maintained and safe for campers, guests, and staff. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise maintenance personnel, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Develop and execute preventative maintenance plans for all equipment and buildings.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and grounds, completing semi-annual inspections in conjunction with superior staff and the Property Committee.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies applicable to organized camping, including PA DEP, DOH, DOA, ADA, ACA, etc.
  • Assist in determining real maintenance costs for buildings, equipment, and grounds by utilizing tools such as the annual budget, Capital Projects, needs list, and project proposals.
  • Maintain equipment and building inventory records, tracking maintenance activities and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Acquire and retain pertinent certifications, including small water systems and sewage treatment (package) plant operator certifications within 2 years of hire date, Amusement Ride Inspector (Extreme Sports) License, and Pesticide Applicators License via Pa Dept. of Agriculture within 1 years of hire date.
  • Supervision of work weekend crews and outside contractors, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to standards.
  • Be on emergency call 24 hours a day to respond promptly to all emergencies.
  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance for all properties to ensure cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional vocational or technical training preferred.
  • Proven experience in maintenance, repair, or facilities management, preferably in a camp or similar recreational setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience supervising and leading a team.
  • Knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance techniques.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 to 3:30, with occasional weekends.
  • Must pass background check and provide references.

Work Environment:

You will work in both indoor and outdoor environments surrounded by nature. The maintenance team is required to work in all weather conditions. The work environment is fast-paced during peak camp season, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration to ensure the safety and enjoyment of campers.

MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

Are you an energetic, punctual, self-starter? Are you a jack of all trades? A Mr(s) Fix-It? We are looking for an individual who can lift 80 lbs, work well independently, have excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, follow instructions, and work independently in a fast-paced environment. If this sounds like you, then join our team as a Summer Camp Maintenance Assistant. You will work closely with the camp facilities manager to ensure the upkeep and functionality of camp facilities and grounds. Key responsibilities include assisting in the maintenance and repair of camp buildings, equipment, and infrastructure, conducting routine inspections, and responding promptly to maintenance requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of camp buildings, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential issues before they become problems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from camp staff and address any issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to execute preventive maintenance plans.
  • Maintain a safe and organized workshop area.

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be 18 years or older, able to confidently run a chainsaw, work at heights, and work in confined spaces.
  • Previous experience in maintenance or a related field is a plus.
  • The ability to run a backhoe is a plus.

The Housekeeping Supervisor will ensure that cabins, common areas, and recreational spaces are impeccably clean and well-maintained, contributing to an exceptional experience for campers, guests, and staff.

Summer Schedule:  (May – September) Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Hybrid Schedule: (March – September) Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM

  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations related to housekeeping activities.
  • Provide leadership and support to housekeeping staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by camp management.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

  • Flexibility to work 37 hours a week during the camp season and 1 day every other week and as needed for rentals and events during the off-season.
